HOW TO TRACE YOUR MISSING CHECKED IN BAGGAGE

Sometimes it happens that your checked in baggage has not arrived with you at your destination. It usually happens while transiting in your journey, especially when the transit time is very short or if your first flight is delayed too much and you may need to walk a lot to the boarding gate. It can also happen if you happen to be the last person to get the boarding pass closer to the departure time of your flight when the cargo compartment of your flight is closed before your baggage could be loaded.

This is where your luggage tag stuck to your boarding pass becomes very important. As soon as you find that your baggage has not arrived, you must proceed to the airline office there and lodge a complaint presenting your luggage tag, filling up a form. All the airlines using that terminal will have an office there. On that form you will have to mention the value of your baggage contents. Always remember to quote a reasonably high amount since based on this only you may have to claim compensation from the airlines or insurance company in case your baggage is not traceable.Your wedding suit or a small gift by your fiancé may be of immense value to you, apart from the sentimental value. You have to give your residential address, if the baggage is missing while returning from abroad or the address of your place of stay in the visiting country if the baggage is missing on arrival abroad. Also if you are going to move from that place soon while on entourage, give the address of the next destination, preferably with mobile number if you have or the phone number  of the places of stay. Once your baggage is traced, airline will deliver your baggage through their agent at the given address OR courier it. It is better to open the baggage in the presence of the airline agent under your mobile video to see if there are any damages to your articles inside. Happy journey !!
